This Wednesday, April 29th, Portland City Council will decide on whether to temporarily extend the controversial and completely unconstitutional Sit/Lie Ordinance to October 23, 2009. Citizens Action Group is mobilizing people to fill the Council Chambers to let the City know that Portland stands up for the civil rights of all. This is possibly more important than ever, considering the growing number of displaced due to the current economic recession. According to the 2009 Portland/Multnomah County Street Count of Unsheltered Persons, the number of homeless people in Portland is 11% higher than it was in 2007.
